OK, so you may have worked it out by now that North Wales is the bolthole for myself and my wife, Izzy; a holiday where the car is parked up for the majority of two weeks and we just enjoy the trains, the weather, the vista, the people and, most definately, THE BEER! (I always bring back a case or two of my favourite tipple from The Purple Moose Brewery

Izzy and I also spend a quite a bit of time just going on the Ffestiniog Railway from Porthmadog to Blaenau Ffestiniog and back. no two journeys are the same, the weather can change from the start to the end of the journey, the colours change as the seasons change but there is always the ever present smell of the steam loco giving it some serious welly from the Harbour up to the Quarries. At BF you will find a bakery made very famous by The Hairy Bikers in their last TV series when they visited the F&WHR. It's called The Model Bakery and makes their now famous Kurdish Pasties..... and they are stunning!

Today (Sunday 13/10/24) is is grey but the vista from our apartment is, as always, ever changing. The tide is going out and the wading seabirds are hunting for their food before the tide turns and the larder is closed again.

I have added a couple of pictures to the North Wales gallery on this site to show the changing light and the view we wake up to!
