So, over the past weekend, I had the honour of being the photographer for Sam's Superheroes (samssuperheroes.co.uk) , a charity aimed at raising money for F.I.R.E.S (Febrile Infection Related Epilepsy Syndrome) for which, at the moment, there is no known cure. The money will help carry out further research into the condition and hopefully find a cure.

Sam, tragically succumbed to the condition at the age of 5 and his mother, Rachel, is so determind to do her bit to help find a cure and prevent other families going through the heart wrenching time she has gone through. Sam's memory lives on!

The aim was for a group of wonderful people to Kick Scoot from Birmingham to Derby, a distance of around 50miles. It was spread over three days with overnight stops at Lichfield and Burton On Trent. The weather, on the whole, was good except Sunday when it rained and rained and rained and rained and......well you get the idea! But their spirits were never dampened. Despite the grey weather, the whole ride was ful of colour, smiles, scooters, tears (of happiness), faces of "here we go again" and "I wish that photographer would get his camera out of my face!"

Anyway , the ride was completed and a great deal of money was raised by this event alone, for the charity. Some of the photos from the event have been placed into it's own gallery on this website, along with an MP4 video that was broadcast on Central TV News on Sunday 22nd September.

Please visit the website for the charity to understand more about the condition and it's events & activities and also how to donate & support it.
